A Classic Blend of White and Oak
Kitchen in Rye, New York
For a family with four growing boys, space and functionality were a must. Working alongside David Mooney Architects and designer Jade Cunningham, we extended the footprint beyond the original back wall to create an open layout with a flat wall for seamless cabinetry, a generous 10' x 4.5' island that seats four, and new storage solutions including a butler’s pantry leading to the dining room and a walk-in pantry.
The Craft-Maid cabinetry features narrow shaker doors, perimeter cabinets in Benjamin Moore’s “Simply White,” and a custom white oak stain on the island. A custom cove crown molding, sloped hood with oak detailing, and 3" oak paneling on the island’s back create a cohesive look.
High-performance appliances from Village Appliances complete the space: a 60" Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, two paneled Cove dishwashers, a 48" Wolf range, 30" Wolf wall oven, and a Sharp microwave drawer. In the butler’s pantry, a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator, ice maker, and prep sink make entertaining effortless.
Thoughtfully designed and beautifully detailed, this kitchen strikes the perfect balance between everyday family living and fine craftsmanship.
