From
the tin ceilings to the two hundred year old reclaimed
wide board floors, the client, an architect in Hastings-on-Hudson,
New York, wanted to recreate a craftsman style kitchen
for his own home. He chose Flush Inset styling and a
recessed panel door paired with slab drawers for the
base cabinets, crafted in distressed pine and finished
in a burgundy stain. The farm table island is finished
in an antique milk paint of mustard over red, and is
scraped and worn to suggest age. The cabinets are detailed
with wood pegs and cut nails, and are complemented by
the worn white painted open shelves.
